30% of Ugandans are poor!

Poverty remains one of Uganda’s most serious challenges. The ruling government, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has since pledged to end poverty. The COVID-19 pandemic made things even worse.

In 2016, at least 21.4% of Ugandans were buried below the poverty line. Today, although the country’s economy is growing (GDP of about $47 billion in 2023), the GDP per capita of Uganda is still under $1000

The north and northeastern parts of Uganda remain some of the poorest, with poverty rates reaching at least 65%.

We come handy to empower communities to become economically resilient.
